about

In the 1950s and 60s, a prolific jewel thief hit millionaires across Dallas Texas, unseen and without leaving so much as a fingerprint. Local Police, FBI, Scotland Yard and Interpol were involved and yet he was never caught or even identified. The legend of the Invisible Bandit sparked this song.

lyrics

They called him the King of Diamonds
A name he had earned so well
He'd steal from the rich and keep it all for himself
The Dallas Police were really amazed by the King of Diamonds
And Invisible Bandit, sure got to hand it to you

The man was a criminal genius
Midas with a touch of stone
But when morning came, the verdict was always the same
Detectives couldn't find a clue - only his calling card
And Invisible Bandit, sure got to hand it to you

Not even agents of the FBI
Could catch the King of Diamonds
And Invisible Bandit, sure got to hand it
Invisible Bandit, sure got to hand it
Invisible Bandit, sure got to hand it to you
